Standish-Sterling Community Schools mission is to provide a quality education through shared responsibility in a safe supportive environment for all students to meet the challenges of a global society.

We are “Committed to Excellence”, and we work hard to make the site a primary source for timely information for all users, and a main gateway for improved communication between parents, teachers, students and other members of our community. 


WHAT'S HAPPENING     


        COVID-19 Information


The Governor announced today (4/2/2020)  that Michigan schools will remain closed for the balance of the school year.  The Executive Order eliminates face-to-face instruction but gives us some guidance and requirements for continuing learning for the students.   Our staff will be working on the details of what this means for all of our students.  The food distribution program will continue as described below.  All of the buildings are in lock-down, so please don't come to the schools yet.
 

Food Distribution Notice 06-01-2020
             Starting Thursday, June 4 the food distribution schedule will be as follows on Mondays and Thursdays: 

Sterling Elementary               9:30 a.m.
Jr/Sr High School                   9:30 a.m.
Arenac Community Center    9:30 a.m.

Off Site/Bus food distribution schedule will be on Mondays & Thursdays as follows:

Route #1      Alger Catholic Church         9:30 a.m.
                     Mary's Country Corners     10:30 a.m.

Route #2      Twining School Parking Lot    9:30 a.m.
                     Omer City Hall/Library           10:30 a.m.

This schedule will continue until further notice.

        

Food Benefits

You may be eligible for additional food benefits through June 30, 2020. If your children were receiving free lunch benefits this school year or you are already receiving Food Assistance Program (FAP)  you do not need to apply. If your child is full or reduced pay for school lunches, the Michigan Department of Education is requesting that you fill out an application. Guidelines are changing due to Covid 19 and you may now be eligible for benefits. Please visit www.lunchapp.com to fill out an online application.
